RESTORATIVE CARE

Bridges

bridges, restorative care

A dental bridge is a non-surgical way for us to help patients replace missing teeth. The process is very similar to having a crown placed, except there are more teeth involved in the process. The replacement tooth in a bridge is connected to a crown on both sides of the space and appears and functions almost like a natural tooth.

Typically and ideally, a bridge will replace one tooth at a time, but there are situations where if multiple teeth in a row are missing, a bridge can fill in multiple spaces.

To place a bridge, we require that the teeth on both sides of the space are healthy and capable of withstanding normal chewing function. We then prepare those teeth as if we were preparing them for crowns. Once finished, we take impressions and send them to the lab.

After the bridge is received from the lab, the patient is brought back to the office to have the bridge permanently cemented. Bridges are a great non-surgical option to restore aesthetics and everyday function.
